Summer Nationals Week 3 Wrap Up and What’s Up for Week 4

The grind of the Summer Nationals took a toll on the BAR31 Team in the Steve Lampley owned #33 Midwest Excavating Rocket. Of the six races scheduled, a rainout at Tri-City took one night from us, and ongoing motor issues kept us from the other three. We did make it to Farmer City Raceway on Friday and Highland Speedway on Saturday.

Week 3 Stats:
Qualifying: 15th, 5th
Heat Race Finish: 9th, 3rd
Feature Finish: 17th, 10th

Week 4 of the Summer Nationals is upcoming and with that, Randy Korte will be taking a few days off. That means that the BAR31 Team Rocket will be back on the track, but this time with a different driver. 2024 Australian Champion Joe Chalmers will take over the driving duties for a few nights. Why? Paul Stubber says, “Joe has earnt his slot! Joe has been a supporter of Kye and the BAR31 Team for several years in the USA. In 2023, Joe stepped up to work a few weeks with just he and Kye (running the Summer Nationals.) BAR31 has been supporting Joe in Australia for a few years with a chassis, shocks and general assistance on the Accu-Force Spring Smasher.”

BAR31 supported drivers have won 3 of the last 5 Australian National Championships and we at BAR31 are proud of our association with both Kye and Joe.

Paul also said, “It’s every Late Model driver’s dream to compete in the Midwest bullrings, and Joe is going to enjoy waking up discovering that he’s not dreaming, he’s living it!”

Kye will be back in the driver's seat next Sunday at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN.
